Social Tariff for Electricity, Vale Gas and Auxílio Brasil. Can I receive all three at the same time?

Many people who need these benefits wonder if they can receive them together or if there is some kind of ban on doing so. Check the answer in the article below.

The life of Brazilians is not easy. The cost of living has been rising too much and practically everything we consume is getting more expensive on the shelves.

Likewise, basic necessities such as electricity and cooking gas have weighed heavily on citizens' pockets, causing many people to return to the times of rationing.

In order to alleviate this whole situation, there are government social programs, which work as an escape valve so that everyone can have access to basic resources.

However, each social program has its specific requirements, which leaves most people lost.

With that in mind, we have prepared a complete guide for you to understand how each one works.

Is it possible to receive all three benefits at the same time?

This is the question that many still ask.

If someone needs help with the electricity bill (Social Tariff), cooking gas (Vale Gás) and basic needs (Auxílio Brasil), can that person receive all the benefits at the same time?

And the answer is YES. The same family can receive these three benefits at the same time, as there is no law that prohibits this.

However, it is necessary to pay attention to the individual requirements of each program, to verify if that family is able to participate in all of them.

Check the requirements for each below.

Social Electricity Tariff

When it was launched, the Social Tariff program required that each beneficiary attend the electricity distributor to present the documents before registration.

However, law 14.203/2021 brought changes to the form of registration in the program.

Now, people enrolled in CadÚnico (Cadastro Único) for social programs of the federal government and in BPC (Benefit of Continuous Provision) will be automatically registered in the program.

It is worth remembering that each beneficiary can only use the benefit in just one residence, and must notify the distributor if he/she leaves that residence.

The requirements are:

  • Be enrolled in the Single Registry of the federal government (CadÚnico);
  • Have a family income per person of up to half the national minimum wage;
  • The rule above excludes families that have an income of up to 3 minimum wages and have a person with an illness or disability, who uses appliances and instruments that consume electricity;
  • Elderly from 65 years old or people who have a disability and earn the BPC;
  • Indigenous and quilombola families, enrolled in the CadÚnico, and who meet the income criteria.

gas voucher

Initially, three groups of families are benefiting from receiving the Gas Voucher:

  • Those who are enrolled in the Single Registry for Social Programs of the federal government (CadÚnico), with monthly per capita family income less than or equal to half the national minimum wage;
  • Those that have members who receive the benefit of continued provision of social assistance, the BPC;
  • Finally, the law establishes that the aid will be granted “preferably” to families with women who are victims of domestic violence and who have protective measures.

People who meet the requirements explained above can check the availability of the benefit through the Auxílio Brasil applications, through CAIXA Tem or by calling 111.

The values referring to the program will be credited to the accounts that the beneficiaries already have for other social programs.

This means that the cards and passwords used to withdraw the Auxílio Brasil can be used to receive the Gas Voucher.

Brazil aid

The requirements for enrolling in the program are:

  • Be registered, by the city hall, in the Single Registry of Social Programs of the Federal Government;
  • Be selected by the Ministry of Citizenship;
  • Being in poverty or extreme poverty. Families living in poverty must include pregnant women, nursing mothers (breastfeeding mothers), children, adolescents or young people between 0 and 21 years of age.

Receiving amounts can be done in two ways:

  • Social Digital Savings Account: this is an account opened automatically by Caixa, which can be accessed through the Caixa Tem application. Through it, it is possible to make payments, transfers and withdrawals with the virtual debit card.
  • Caixa Fácil savings account: it is a simplified savings account with a maximum monthly turnover of R$ 3,000.00. Values can be withdrawn using the magnetic card.

With all this information, just check if you meet all the requirements and request all the benefits you are entitled to.
