What is Simple Nacional?
Simples Nacional is a shared regime for the collection, collection and inspection of taxes applicable to Micro and Small Businesses, provided for in Complementary Law No.
It covers the participation of all federal entities (Union, States, Federal District and Municipalities).
It is administered by a Management Committee composed of eight members: four from the Federal Revenue Service of Brazil (RFB), two from the States and the Federal District and two from the Municipalities.

- Fit in the definition of micro-enterprise or small business;
- Comply with the requirements set out in the legislation; It is

How to cancel MEI?
To download the CNPJ, just follow the steps below:
- Access the Entrepreneur Portal (https://www.gov.br/empresas-e-negocios/pt-br/empreendedor);
- Click on the option “Já sou MEI”;
- Tap on “Company Dismissal” and then “Request Dismissal”;
- Inform your access data;
- Enter your Simples Nacional access code;
- Check your data and check the option “Dismissal Declaration”, clicking on “Continue”;
- Download and print your Individual Microentrepreneur Condition Certificate of low CNPJ.
What to do after lowering the CNPJ?
Lowering the CNPJ is not the last step in canceling the MEI.
To confirm the write-off on a regular basis, it is necessary:
- Access the DAS Generator Program for MEI (PGMEI) through the Federal Revenue website and pay the DAS slips that are still open, from the opening month to the month of CNPJ withdrawal;
- Access the Simples Nacional Annual Declaration (DASN) in the specific area of the Federal Revenue website and send the Simples Nacional de Baixa Annual Declaration (Special Situation);
- Remember to close the bank account in the name of the company, if there is one.
