INSS benefits will have readjustment and change in the salary cap.

The changes were published in the Official Gazette of January 20, 2022.

According to the legislation, the index used to readjust the benefit of those who earn more than one minimum wage is the i INPC, based on the previous year.

For those who receive a minimum wage as a benefit (64% of the total beneficiaries), the readjustment is made according to the minimum wage.

Minimum wage for 2022 was readjusted to R$ 1,212

The value of the national minimum wage for 2022 was set at R$ 1,212.00. Remembering that in 2021 the national minimum wage was R$ 1,100.00.

In other words, this year's value is almost 11% higher than last year's. However, the economic forecasts of the Ministry of Economy and the IBGE on inflation bring not very good news for Brazilians.

With the accumulated rise in prices, the increase in the national minimum wage will only take place in numbers, as it will not represent a real increase in citizens' consumption.

How are the benefits of the INSS in 2022

With the readjustment of 10.16%, the values of INSS benefits in 2022 are as follows:

  • Who earned R$ 1,100.00 in 2021: R$ 1,212.00;
  • Who earned R$ 1,500.00 in 2021: R$ 1,652.00;
  • Who earned R$ 2,000.00 in 2021: R$ 2,203.00;
  • Who earned R$ 3,000.00 in 2021: R$ 3,304.00;
  • Who earned R$ 4,000.00 in 2021: R$ 4,406.00;
  • Who earned R$ 5,000.00 in 2021: R$ 5,508.00;
  • Who earned R$ 6,000.00 in 2021: R$ 6,609.00;
  • Who earned R$ 6,433.00 in 2021: R$ 7,087.00.
INSS benefits will have an adjustment of up to 10.16% in 2022.

Remembering that the salary cap in 2022 was set at R$ 7,807.00.

How is the readjustment for those who started receiving the benefit in 2021

The readjustment of 10.16% will be valid for those who already received the benefit in 2021.

For those who started receiving the benefit throughout 2021, the readjustment will be different, as follows:

  • Until January/21: 10.16% of readjustment;
  • February/21: 9.86% of readjustment;
  • March/21: 8.97% of readjustment;
  • April/21: 8.04% of readjustment;
  • May/21: 7,63% of readjustment;
  • June/21: 6.61% readjustment;
  • July/21: 5.97% readjustment;
  • August/21: 4.90% of readjustment;
  • September/21: 3.99% readjustment;
  • October/21: 2.75% readjustment;
  • November/21: 1.58% readjustment;
  • December/21: 0.73% readjustment.
Number of households headed by retirees and pensioners grew during the economic crisis.

Remembering that in 2021, the readjustment was 5,45% for beneficiaries who received above the minimum wage and 5,26% for those who received a minimum wage.
