The gas aid was created by the federal government in November 2021 and regulated in December of the same year with the aim of reducing the impact of the increase in the price of kitchen gas on the budget of Brazilian families.

The amount, which corresponds to 50% of the national price of a 13-kilogram cylinder, is limited to 1 benefit per family and is paid every other month.

The payment of Vale Gás is made through the same structure as Auxílio Brasil, which is controlled by Caixa Econômica Federal and the payment of the installment is valid for up to 120 days from the date of availability.

People who already receive other benefits linked to the Auxílio Brasil Program can also receive aid for cooking gas.

Families who meet the following criteria are eligible to receive Vale Gás: 

Families that have in their composition, women victims of domestic violence who are under the monitoring of urgent protective measures have priority.

It is important to know that CadÚnico is a prerequisite, however, it does not imply immediate entry into the Program, nor does it immediately guarantee receipt.

Payment is made every two months by CAIXA, following the Auxílio Brasil payment schedule.
