Find out more about Banco do Brasil
Banco do Brasil is the oldest financial institution we have in our national territory. This was the first bank to operate in Brazil, in 1808, and has been in the market for over 200 years.
With all this operating time, there is no doubt to say that the bank is also one of the most structured and experienced that we currently have.
In short, Banco do Brasil has almost 90,000 employees spread across more than 5,000 branches throughout the country. In this sense, we can consider that we have almost one agency for each municipality in Brazil.
This large structure is a benefit to the bank, its customers and employees alike. Thus, participating in the Bando do Brasil young apprentice program is a great idea for your first formal job.
Below we will explain how the work of an apprentice at Banco do Brasil works!
What is the work of the Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice?
First, the Apprenticeship Law defines apprentices as those under 24 and over 14 who are about to enter the formal job market. These people enter a special employment contract.
In this case, the bank needs to include two important moments in the young professional's daily workday: practical work and theoretical professional learning. This is because the main objective of the program is to prepare a professional future.

Thus, apprentices tend to engage in simpler activities during their day-to-day work, such as helping other professionals with common tasks and serving customers.
In this case, it is more common for an apprentice to be operating within the administrative sector of the company or in the BB do Brasil units (branches). Check out some of the activities:
- Customer service;
- Organization of documentation;
- Distribute passwords;
- Perform registrations in the bank system;
- Organization of internal and external service;
- Customer assistance guidance.
The Law also provides that the working day of these young people must be from 4h to 8h of work. However, the maximum workload is only valid for those over 18 who have already completed high school
This is because one of the main points of the apprenticeship program is to keep encouraging school and professional training simultaneously. Thus, the learner develops fully, in practice, and also in theory.
Who can join the Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice Program?
According to official information from the financial institution, the conditions to participate in the program and take up a vacancy, if selected, are as follows:
- Be attending or have completed high school in the public school system (municipal, state or federal) or in private schools with a scholarship and good performance in attendance and grades
- Prove that you live in a situation of economic vulnerability;
- Be in the range of 18 years old minimum and maximum 22 years old;
- Be available to work six to eight hours a day.

It is worth remembering that the Federal Government established the main rules of the apprenticeship program in the year 2000, through the Apprenticeship Law, nº 10097.
However, Banco do Brasil and other companies can make some changes to adapt the conditions to their work environments.
Rights and benefits of Banco do Brasil Apprentices
The Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice Program guarantees that all its apprentices have a formal contract, guaranteed CLT (Consolidation of Labor Laws) rights and the benefits of the bank itself.
Therefore, even starting to work under a “special contract”, as Law No. 10097 refers to, the apprentice must enjoy all the benefits of a permanent employee.
Therefore, the rights and benefits of the Banco do Brasil Young Apprentice Program are as follows:
- Special employment contract for up to 24 months (two years);
- Payment of the Severance Indemnity Fund;
- Meal allowance;
- 13th proportional salary;
- Transportation vouchers;
- Paid holidays in the same period as school holidays, if the employee is enrolled at school.
You who are interested in the vacancy also need to keep an eye on the workplace where you will carry out your activities, as the law provides that the location cannot be harmful.
In the case of Banco do Brasil this is something rare to happen, but if you are preparing for lawsuits in other companies as well, keep an eye on what the law says:
"Single paragraph. Minors’ work cannot be carried out in places that are detrimental to their training, physical, psychological, moral and social development, and at times and places that do not allow them to attend school.”
Young Apprentice Salary
Banco do Brasil acts in accordance with Law 10097/2000, so it guarantees the minimum hourly wage for all its apprentices. However, the bank informs that the amounts paid are even greater than the base that the law provides.
The Jovem Aprendiz Banco do Brasil earns about one and a half minimum wages, plus meal tickets, transportation and health insurance.
