Similar to the apprenticeship program at other companies, at Santander the main objective of the Young Apprentice is to develop young people and teenagers professionally.

These new workers are usually between 14 and 22 years old and formally start working with a special employment contract. In this sense, young people must have shorter working hours than normal and must participate in training.

You can also be part of the fast-food chain.

In addition to working in these activities, apprentices must participate in courses and training to develop in the professional environment.

Therefore, in addition to working and guaranteeing a monthly income, young professionals have the chance to show their services and get an effective contract after their apprenticeship period.

Santander did not say exactly how many vacancies are available, so we have no way of defining how many people will enter the program. However, the faster you apply, the more chance you have of being hired.

Rights of a Young Apprentice

Whether in the Santander program or in any other, the contracting company has the duty to sign the apprentice's work card. That is, the young person must work with a formal contract and be entitled to practically everything that the law provides for permanent employees.

The Learning Law provides for these conditions right at the beginning of its text, where it says the following:

Art. 428 "§ 1O The validity of the apprenticeship contract assumes an entry in the Employment and Social Security Card, enrollment and attendance of the apprentice at school, if he has not completed elementary school, and enrollment in an apprenticeship program developed under the guidance of an entity qualified in technical-professional training methodical.”

In this way, the rights of an apprentice include labor rights and also the benefits that Santander provides to its employees. So check out the main ones:

  • Salary of: R$820.00;
  • Contract lasting 18 months, in other words, a year and a half of guaranteed work;
  • Payment of the Severance Indemnity Fund (FGTS) and 13th Salary;
  • Transportation vouchers;
  • Health insurance and plan;
  • Life insurance;
  • Meal Ticket.

Anyway, one of the best advantages of being a Young Apprentice is that you have the possibility to keep improving yourself while you work. Thus, at the end of your contract, you can reach an effective vacancy in the company.

This is what happens to many young people who stand out in apprenticeship programs and continue training even after securing employment.

That is, those who are not accommodated tend to grow more and more within the company and reach higher and more important positions in business administration.

In short, the law says that the Young Apprentice must receive the minimum hourly wage in all cases of contract. This is the lowest amount an apprentice can receive in their employment contract.

Based on this, the value of wages varies according to the number of hours the apprentice works in his/her daily journey. Thus, the Santander Young Apprentice earns around R$820/month, considering a 6-hour shift and the minimum hourly wage.

It is worth remembering that this amount can increase when we consider the transport and food vouchers that the bank grants to its apprentices in the vast majority of contracts.
