What is SENAI?

Firjan SENAI (National Service for Industrial Learning) is a private Brazilian institution, belonging to the “S” System.

It has been training and qualifying professionals to meet the needs of the industry, in various segments, for over 75 years.

Through 28 units and 3 technology institutes, it also has another 34 mobile schools and 11 mobile teaching kits to take courses to needy companies and communities.

In the portfolio offered by SENAI there are more than 100 courses, divided into approximately 35 industry areas.

What is the role of SENAI?

Among the main functions of SENAI, the following stand out:

  • Basic Professional Learning: Courses aimed at young people aged 14 to 24, hired as quotaholders by companies, for a contract of up to 2 years or as soon as the young person turns 24;
  • Technical Professional Apprenticeship: Firjan SENAI is offering Professional Apprenticeship at Medium Technical Level, with the aim of increasing the attractiveness of the course for young people, strengthening the educational character of Apprenticeship in tune with the context of technological advancement and expanding possibilities for Rio de Janeiro industry companies;
  • Professional certification: Firjan SENAI's professional certification is yet another tool to make the industry even more competitive, by formally recognizing the professional skills of workers through technical assessments, guaranteeing the levels of performance and qualification required by the market;
  • Firjan SENAI talent bank: Access to thousands of resumes of professionals trained by us, divided by industrial segment and by region. All this to help the industry find the ideal professional;
  • Mobile schools: Firjan SENAI's mobile schools are mobile workshops and laboratories that bring professional qualification and technological services to companies or wherever else is needed, allowing more flexibility in service.
SENAI's Mobile Schools are learning facilitators in poorer or more difficult to reach places.

In addition to the above projects, SENAI has a free project called Dupla Escola.

In it, SENAI, in partnership with the government of the state of Rio, offers professional training for students from state public schools, along with regular education.

These courses, in addition to increasing students' school performance and reducing dropout rates, train professionals who are ready for the job market. This is great for the industry and society as a whole.

What are the free courses offered by SENAI?

There are two types of free courses offered by SENAI: online and face-to-face.

In the online modality, some free course options are:

  • BIM – Digitization of Civil Construction;
  • Introduction to Big Data;
  • Power Bi – Introduction to Dashboard Development, among others.

In face-to-face mode, some of the most popular courses are:

  • Light Vehicle Mechanic;
  • Master of Works;
  • Application developer;
  • Planning, budgeting and control of works;
  • Industrial Production Assistant;
  • Logistics Operations Assistant;
  • Youtube Content Developer, among others.

How to get a free course at SENAI?

SENAI courses are free of charge through the “Interest Bank”, which is a platform where candidates can register their interest in taking a free course at Firjan SENAI.

To be eligible for this gratuity, the candidate must be a student enrolled or graduated from public schools, or a worker, employed or unemployed, and have a low income condition, to be certified at the time of enrollment.

In addition, it must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 16 years of age;
  • Have a monthly family income of up to 1.5 minimum wages;
  • Meet the minimum schooling prerequisite for the professional area of interest.
