Do you know the Single Registry (CadÚnico)? Read in this article everything you need to know.
The federal government has been seeking to simplify and centralize access to its social programs.
This happens due to the large number of existing social programs and the great demand that exists for them, mainly by the lower classes.
The centralization of the registration of social programs aims to identify with more precision the families that need the benefits.
This facilitates contact with them and monitoring the poverty situation.
For this purpose, the Cadastro Único, or just CadÚnico, was created.
What is Single Registration?
The term Cadastro Único was one of the most heard during the pandemic, as it was one of the criteria for receiving Emergency Aid. But did you know that the Cadastro Único offers a series of other benefits?
Created in 2001, the Cadastro Único (CadÚnico) aims to identify families in poverty and extreme poverty.
These data are used to formulate social programs aimed at these people, so that all Federal Government actions are made available to them.
Low-income families who:
- Earn up to half the minimum wage per person; or
- Who earn up to 3 minimum wages of total monthly income.
What social programs can I access through CadÚnico?
Several social programs use CadÚnico as an entry criterion for families. Some of them are:
- Brazil Aid Program
- My House, My Life Program
- Elderly Card;
- Retirement for low-income people;
- Gas voucher;
- Pro Young Teenager;
- Social Electricity Tariff;
- Free Pass for people with disabilities;
- Exemption from Fees in Public Tenders.
It is worth noting that enrollment in CadÚnico does not automatically include the family in any social program, and the management criteria of each program, whether federal, state or municipal, must be respected.
How do I sign up for CadÚnico?
Registration in CadÚnico is done in two ways: passive and active.
In the passive, the municipality promotes home visits to needy families to carry out this registration.
Already in active duty, the family can go to the CRAS – Reference Center for Social Assistance in the municipality and request its registration.
For registration, the family must present at least one of the documents below for each family member:
- Birth or marriage certificate;
- CPF or RG;
- Work Card or Voter Title;
- Administrative Certificate of Birth of the Indigenous; or
- Proof of address.
