They say that one of the best feelings in life is finding lost money.
With the current economic crisis and the difficulty that many Brazilians are facing, receiving some money without waiting would be a wonderful thing.
And one of the places where people most forget they have money is in bank accounts and closed financial transactions.
With that in mind, the Central Bank (BC) has developed a tool to help Brazilians: the Registration.
What is the Central Bank and what are its functions
The Central Bank (BC) is an autarchy of a special nature, created by Law No. 4,595/1964 and with autonomy established by Complementary Law No. 179/2021.
Among all its duties, the following stand out:
- Keep control of inflation;
- Ensuring that the national financial system is safe and has capital to support all transactions made;
- Hold the main government accounts and be the depository of the country's international reserves;
- Manage financial institutions, given that all of them need to maintain accounts linked to the BC so that it can supervise them;
- Issuing banknotes and coins.
Understanding the “My Financial Life” program and the Registrato system
According to a study by the Central Bank, there are about R$ 8 billion of reais forgotten in bank accounts and financial operations.
Among this value, the forgotten resources stand out in:
- Closed checking or savings accounts with an available balance;
- Rates and installments or obligations related to credit operations unduly charged, provided that the return is provided for in a Term of Commitment signed by the bank with the BC;
- Capital quotas and apportionment of net surpluses of beneficiaries and participants of credit unions; It is
- Unsought appeals relating to closed consortium groups.
The Minha Vida Financeira program aims precisely to remedy this problem, through a database that centralizes all information and financial transactions of individuals or companies.
Through it, people and companies can consult:
- Registered pix keys;
- Loans and financing;
- Accounts and Relationships in banks;
- Exchange and international transfers;
- Debts registered with the Federal Cadin;
- Bad checks;
- Declaration of non-existence of bank accounts.
How to consult and receive the amounts to which I am entitled
Those interested should access the page "My Financial Life”, on the Central Bank website (https://www.bcb.gov.br/acessoinformacao/minhavidafinanceira?bc=).
Then click on Receivables (a subsection of the page).
Click on the last item called “Consult the Amounts Receivable Report”. Afterwards, click on “start consultation”, with your CPF number (individual) or CNPJ (legal entity).
The system will then indicate whether or not you have receivables from banks and financial institutions.
If you have receivables, you must consult the Registration, through login gov.br.
The system will register your data, including bank details, which will be the means by which these amounts will be transferred to customers.
