The world is in the mood for the World Cup and the biggest sporting event of the year attracts the attention of millions of people to Qatar. A small Arab country, located in Western Asia, it is considered the richest country in the world.
The opening match will be between Qatar and Ecuador, at Al Khor Stadium, at 1 pm (Brasília time).
This is the first time a Middle Eastern country has hosted a World Cup and teams from 32 nations will compete in the championship.
