39 million Brazilians have “forgotten” money. See where and how to redeem it

In addition to the “forgotten” resources released by the Central Bank, there are some other benefits where Brazilians abandoned a lot of money.

In times of economic recession, any extra resource makes a big difference for Brazilians.

However, many still have unredeemed funds in various banks and/or government social programs.

These values add up to almost R$ 28 billion, an extremely high value to be abandoned in the care of the government and financial institutions.

Below we have prepared a summary on where these resources are and how to redeem them.

Amounts Receivable from the Central Bank

The most recent source of resources for Brazilians to redeem this lost money is the “Receivables“, from the Central Bank.

These amounts refer to the closure of current or savings accounts, in addition to available balances and rates related to credit or financial operations.

The first phase of this program will cover around 28 million Brazilians, who together have around R$ 8 billion abandoned.

To consult the “Values Receivable” system is very simple:

  • Access the website at https://valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br;
  • See if there are values available for you (CPF) or for your company (CNPJ);
  • If so, the system will inform a date for the specific consultation of these amounts and for the withdrawal to be carried out (keep this date safe!);
  • On the informed date, return to https://valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br;
  • You will need access “gov.br” to access the system (if you do not have one, you will need to create one).

Ready, now just request your transfer!

PIS/PASEP Fund

Unlike the PIS/PASEP Salary Bonus paid every year, the PIS/PASEP Fund it is a right of those who worked with a formal contract between 1971 and October 4, 1988, both private sector workers and public servants.

Around 10 million Brazilians still have not withdrawn these amounts, adding up to an amount of R$ 23 billion stopped in public coffers.

Remembering that in the event of the death of the shareholder, the heirs and successors can withdraw the money without any problem.

From June 2020 to Box is responsible for paying PIS/PASEP Fund quotas.

Removing these values is quite simple:

  • Download the FGTS application on your cell phone;
  • Tap on “My Withdrawals” at the bottom of the screen;
  • Then click on “Other Withdrawal Situations” and “PIS/PASEP – Modality intended for workers who have PIS/PASEP quotas”;
  • Indicate the account for receipt (it can be Caixa or any other bank);
  • Send the documents requested by the application itself.

Okay, now just wait a few days for the analysis to be received in the indicated account.

Salary Bonus PIS/PASEP 2019

PIS/PASEP Salary Allowance for base year 2019 has not yet been withdrawn by around 320,000 workers.

This gives a total of R$ 208 million available for withdrawal.

With that in mind, the government is giving a “second chance” to those who have not yet withdrawn their respective allowances.

These withdrawals can be made from March 31, as follows:

  • The worker must make a formal request to the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (as of March 31);
  • This request must be made in person at one of the MTE's regional units or through the email [email protected];
  • In the email above, the worker must replace the letters “uf” with the abbreviation of his state;
  • After the request, workers will be able to withdraw or receive the account until December 29, 2022.

Guarantee Fund (FGTS)

Contrary to what many people think, the FGTS it cannot be withdrawn only in case of dismissal or financing of a property.

They exist several exceptions that allow the worker to withdraw money from his FGTS account.

See some of them:

  • At the end of the contract for a fixed period;
  • In retirement;
  • In case of natural disaster or state of public calamity;
  • Suspension of part-time work for more than 90 days;
  • On the death of the worker;
  • When the account holder is 70 years of age or older;
  • When the worker or his dependent is HIV positive;
  • When the worker or his dependent has cancer;
  • When the worker or his dependent is in a terminal stage;
  • When the worker remains for 3 uninterrupted years without a job with a formal contract.

So, which of these options do you fit in?

Follow the step by step above and check if you have some money to receive.
